Prom Limos in Texas: A Parent’s Guide to Safe Bookings

What parents should check before booking a prom limo or party bus in Texas — alcohol rules, capacity, contracts, pickup points and who is responsible.

Prom is one of the busiest nights of the year for chauffeured transportation, and the one where parents ask the best questions. Here is what to check.

An adult signs the agreement

A parent or guardian should sign the booking and receive the written itinerary. That adult is the company’s contact on the night and is responsible under the agreement.

Zero alcohol, enforced

In Texas, people under 21 may not possess or consume alcohol. A reputable company enforces a zero-alcohol policy on prom trips regardless of whether adults are aboard. Our chauffeurs may check the vehicle before and during the trip, and any alcohol found ends the trip without a refund.

Capacity is a legal limit

Every vehicle has a legal seating capacity. If the group grows, the vehicle must change — the chauffeur is required to refuse boarding beyond capacity. Book for the final group size, not the hopeful one.

Fix the pickup and drop-off points

Agree the pickup address, the venue, any photo stop and the final drop-off in advance, in writing. Changes on the night should come from the parent who signed, not from the group.

Ask about the chauffeur

  • Is the chauffeur employed or contracted by a licensed, insured operator?
  • Will the chauffeur stay with the vehicle during the dance?
  • How do parents reach the company on the night?

See our prom and homecoming service for vehicles and booking details.

Tip. Book two to three months ahead. Prom Saturdays fill early, especially for stretch SUVs.
