How Much Does a Limo Cost in Texas? A Plain-English Price Guide
What really goes into a Texas limousine price: hourly rates, minimums, gratuity, taxes, deposits and how vehicle size changes the total.

Most limousine companies don’t publish prices, which makes the first quote feel like a guess. We publish our starting rate — $150 per hour plus taxes and gratuity — because the math is simpler than it looks. Here is what goes into a Texas limo price, and how to estimate yours before you ask.
1. The hourly rate depends on the vehicle
Chauffeured transportation is priced mainly by time. The rate rises with the size and rarity of the vehicle: an executive sedan or SUV costs the least per hour, then stretch limousines and Sprinter limos, then party buses and coaches. Vintage cars such as a 1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud are priced individually because there are very few of them.
2. Minimum hours
Most vehicles carry a minimum booking — ours is three hours on most vehicles, with no minimum on vintage cars. A minimum exists because the chauffeur and vehicle are committed for the whole window, including travel to your pickup. If your trip is shorter, ask for a point-to-point quote instead.
3. Gratuity and taxes
Gratuity for your chauffeur is usually added as a percentage of the base fare — 20% is standard, and it is what we use. Applicable taxes and fees are added on top. A good quote shows each line separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
4. A worked example
A four-hour booking in an executive sedan at $150 per hour is $600 base fare. Add 20% gratuity ($120) and applicable taxes, and the total is a little over $720 before any extras. Use our price estimator to try your own numbers.
5. What changes the price
- Peak dates: Saturdays in spring and fall, prom weekends and New Year’s Eve book first and fill fastest.
- Distance from the operator’s base, for long trips or rural venues.
- Extra stops or route changes added on the day.
- Wait time beyond the grace period, and overtime beyond your booked hours.
- Décor, red carpets and other concierge extras.
6. Deposits and refunds
Expect to pay a deposit to secure the vehicle — ours is 50%, and higher for some specialty and vintage vehicles — with the balance due ten days before the trip. Read the refund policy before you pay: ours is strict, and the deposit is non-refundable. See our refund policy.
Tip. Compare quotes on the total, not the hourly rate. A lower hourly rate with a longer minimum, or gratuity hidden in the fine print, can cost more.
