Planning a Texas Hill Country Wine Tour by Limo

How to plan a chauffeured Hill Country wine day from Austin or San Antonio: how many wineries, how long to book, reservations and what vehicle to choose.

The Texas Hill Country is home to dozens of wineries along US-290 between Johnson City and Fredericksburg. They are spread out, which makes a chauffeur the most comfortable way to see them.

How many wineries?

Three or four is the sweet spot, with lunch in Fredericksburg in the middle. More than that and the day becomes a rush between tasting rooms.

How long to book

From Austin or San Antonio, allow about an hour and a half each way. Most groups book seven to nine hours in total.

Reservations

Many wineries ask groups to reserve tastings in advance, especially on weekends. Make the reservations first, then send us the times so we can plan the route.

Which vehicle?

  • 2–6 people: an executive SUV.
  • 7–14 people: a Jet Sprinter or Sprinter limo — the most popular choice.
  • 15+ people: a party bus.

See our wine tour service or start a booking request.

Tip. Bring a cooler bag for bottles you buy — Texas summers are hard on wine left in a hot car.
